Understanding Castelli's Cycling Jacket Range

Castelli jackets are built for fast riding in real weather. The brand focuses on race fit, smart fabrics and weather protection that works without adding bulk. Whether you ride year round or want a dependable layer for winter training, Castelli jackets balance warmth, breathability and protection in a way that suits UK conditions.

Key Technologies

Castelli use a mix of advanced fabrics to manage wind, rain and temperature changes.

Gore Tex Infinium

Windproof, highly breathable and water resistant. Ideal for cold, dry days or light showers. Used in Perfetto and Gabba.

Gore Tex

Fully waterproof protection for heavy rain. Lightweight, packable and reliable. Used in Idro and Emergency Rain.

Nano Flex

Thermal fabric with a water repellent finish. Warm, stretchy and comfortable for mixed conditions.

Windstopper

Blocks wind chill while allowing heat and moisture to escape. Good for high intensity riding in cold weather.

Choosing the Right Castelli Jacket

Castelli jackets fall into clear categories based on weather and riding style.

Perfetto

Windproof, water resistant and highly breathable. A versatile choice for most UK conditions. | Shop Perfetto

Gabba

Short sleeve version of the Perfetto. Designed for racing and fast training with arm warmers.

Alpha

Warm, structured insulation with excellent ventilation. Best for deep winter and long rides.

Idro

Fully waterproof Gore Tex shell. Lightweight and packable for heavy rain.

Emergency Rain

Affordable, packable waterproof layer for unexpected downpours.

Fit and Sizing

Castelli jackets use a performance fit. They sit close to the body to reduce drag and improve moisture management. If you prefer a relaxed fit or plan to layer heavily, consider sizing up. Women’s specific cuts are available for a better fit across the shoulders, chest and waist.

UK Weather Performance

Castelli jackets are well suited to the UK’s mix of cold, wet and windy conditions. Gore Tex Infinium handles most winter rides, while Nano Flex fabrics cope with damp roads and light showers. For persistent rain, a full Gore Tex shell like the Idro offers dependable waterproofing without excess weight.

Care and Longevity

Wash on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners. Close zips and turn the jacket inside out. Reproof water resistant fabrics when water stops beading on the surface. Hang dry to maintain shape and performance.
