About the Syphon
The Syphon is Whyte’s new alloy trail bike, designed for riders who want efficient climbing, confident descending and a lively feel on rolling terrain. It sits in the sweet spot between trail and down‑country, offering enough travel for technical riding while staying light and responsive for long days out.
Suspension and Travel
The Syphon uses 140mm travel up front and 135mm at the rear, paired with a RockShox Pike Base fork and RockShox Deluxe Select RT shock. Whyte’s custom‑tuned suspension gives strong support on climbs, good mid‑stroke control and a smooth, predictable feel on rough ground.
29er and MX Wheel Options
Sizes M, L and XL run full 29er wheels for stability, speed and rollover. Size S uses an MX setup with a 29in front and 27.5in rear wheel for better standover and more agile handling. All models come with Schwalbe Albert tyres for grip and fast rolling performance.
Proportional Sizing
Whyte’s proportional sizing ensures each frame size gets its own tuned geometry. This keeps handling consistent across the range and gives every rider the same balanced, confident ride feel.
Frame and Geometry
The 6061 hydroformed T6 multi‑butted alloy frame is built for durability and long‑term reliability. Geometry adjustment allows riders to fine tune the handling, while the layout focuses on stability, efficiency and predictable control on technical trails.
One Build, Two Colours
The Syphon comes in a single spec level, the Syphon S, offering a well‑balanced mix of components for trail riding. Riders can choose between two colour options, both built around the same alloy frame and suspension platform.
Who the Syphon Is For
The Syphon suits riders who want a capable, efficient and confidence‑inspiring trail bike without moving into the high‑end price bracket. It’s ideal for:
- trail riders
- down‑country riders
- riders upgrading from a hardtail
- riders who want a versatile all‑rounder
- anyone who wants a durable alloy frame with modern geometry
