About the SB165
The SB165 is Yeti’s long travel freeride platform, built for bike park laps, steep natural lines and big mountain terrain. It is tested to Yeti’s DH standards and designed to handle the kind of riding where mistakes are expected and the bike needs to stay composed. It is the bike you choose when you never want to feel under‑biked.
Switch Infinity Suspension
The SB165 uses the next generation of Yeti’s Switch Infinity translating pivot system. The updated design improves kinematics, sensitivity, strength and long term durability. It stays active under load, maintains traction and delivers a lively, supportive feel on big hits.
Coil Specific Kinematics
The suspension is tuned specifically for coil shocks, giving excellent small bump sensitivity and strong bottom out support. This setup is designed for aggressive riding, repeated impacts and high speed terrain.
Refined Frame and Silhouette
The frame uses a tighter, more efficient layout that increases ground clearance and stiffness. Each frame size has its own carbon layup to maintain consistent ride feel and prevent unwanted flex during hard riding. The compact Switch Infinity case also reduces weight and improves impact clearance.
Geometry for Freeride
The SB165 uses a forward bias posture with a steep seat tube angle for easier climbing and a slack head angle, long reach and low bottom bracket for stability on steep descents. It blends DH bike confidence with the ability to pedal to the top.
Durability and Testing
The SB165 meets Yeti’s DH testing standards, going far beyond typical trail bike requirements. It is built to last through bike park abuse, shuttle laps and big mountain riding. A chainguide comes fitted as standard.
Clearance and Compatibility
The frame offers room for 2.6 inch tyres, 25mm more downtube clearance, a low slung top tube for manoeuvrability and floating collet pivot axles for stiffness and bearing life. A threaded bottom bracket and UDH hanger improve serviceability.
